Mad about Mushrooms . . .

Thanks to friends who tease and challenge me

Yes, we should all have friends like Jean.  She's an inspiration, someone who, with her generosity and joy, challenges me to reconsider how to led my life.

Here's one example of what I am writing about:  a Thanksgiving gift bag that included two amazing and thoughtful items, one of which was a juniper bottle stopper which revealed several small mushroom shapes embedded in the grain of the wood, and the other of which was a tiny cookbook entitled Mushrooms Love Herbs by Ruth Bass.  You can imagine the pleasure with which I removed both items from her presentation bag.

Give yourself the gift of beauty everyday in 2020

With the spirit of the holiday season comes the desire to gift our friends.  I am suggesting that this year you consider also gifting yourself with one of the most sensational mushroom calendars that I have yet to discover:  The Miraculous Mushroom with Fabulous Fungi Facts, and photography by Steve Axford.

Ah, a fresh layer of powdery snow blankets the landscape, and holiday decorations are brightening our lives.  Yes, the year is coming to a close with gatherings of friends and family dotting the calendar.  It's time to share gifts from the kitchen!
