Leave it to those interesting folks at Cornell University's Department of Plant Pathology to come up with something we've never seen before: time lapse photography of mushrooms growing! This is a relatively quick site to visit, and the familiar Amanita muscaria leads it off. If you've ever wanted to see how that ring around the stem is formed (or for that matter, the remnants of material around the perimeter of the cap), here's your chance!
In addition to mushrooms, there's slime molds, bugs and a Homer Simpson chia pet. Interesting stuff!
